UNPACKING WHO YOU ARE
Handmade by Alberto Morales, a 5th-generation mezcalero and indigenous Zapotec living in Oaxaca, Mexico, his family’s Wahaka Mezcal can trace its heritage back to the beginnings of mezcal itself.
UNPACKING THE CONSUMER
Origin is a huge part of legitimizing wine, whiskey, and other spirits, but with the boom of new brands, it’s more important than ever to distinguish a product as authentic. Consumers aren’t just looking to taste culture, they are seeking to be transported to the place itself.
PACKING IT ALL BACK UP
Wahaka’s label tells its story using traditional Oaxacan art. With vibrant color and images pulled from Oaxacan culture, each bottle brings a burst of color to a shelf space and back bar that has traditionally been earth-toned. Distiller tags detail the differences in the craft process and call attention to the unique tasting experience of each mezcal.

THE IMPACT
More experiences means more cases.
There’s no question: the spirits industry has become extremely crowded. With consumers all searching for a unique tasting experience our rebrand allowed Wahaka to stand out in a crowd and their sales grew significantly. While we’re partial to our design, we can’t take credit for what’s in the bottle - that’s all Wahaka, and it’s damn good.
